Medieval Forrest Hamlet

Trying to flesh out my portfolio with more complete environments. This one took a while as I was feeling a bit burnt out after finishing University, so not worked on it flat out glad to finally get it on here. Everything in the scene was made by me apart from a few textures (ground) and the bracken. I figured since I am not particularly well versed in foliage I should just focus on the environment rather than spending all my time creating ground cover. The trees however were made using SpeedTree.

Another reason this one took a while was the main buildings, I had entirely different idea for them initially even going so far as to model them in ZBrush but the workflow I chose was just silly amounts of textures and polys so I decided to take the time to learn how to sculpt trim sheets and used them for the buildings instead so in the end both buildings only use 2 separate UVs. In the end i'm not fully happy with the result but I needed to get this out and move on.

This entire project was a great learning experience for me and I hope to get another environment out relatively soon now that I have my passion for 3D back somewhat. I threw in the texture sheets for some on the unique props to show the UVs.
